E 11.  Citadel of Cairo, Residence of the Pasha (Subscription Edition, full folio, approx. 19" x 12 ½”, on card approx. 17" x 24") This is perhaps the most impressive of all the Cairo panoramas, originally drawn by Roberts during what appears to be the onset of a thunderstorm. It has great historical value in that it shows the citadel and its surroundings before the “building boom” which began in the second half of the nineteenth century. Except for some very tiny foxing spots, both print and card in near perfect condition. Price: $4500
